Our Mission
Mission
To strengthen and reunite families — including parents, children, and extended relatives — by creating opportunities that add economic value and foster lasting connections. We strive to deliver meaningful benefits for families, stakeholders, and our organization through a culture of mutual success.
Vision
To build a global network that empowers families by sourcing coffee, textiles, crafts, and other goods and services directly from communities in Central America and beyond. We aim to create sustainable “win–win” partnerships that uplift citizens, enrich stakeholders, and deliver authentic value to clients and end users.
Our Story:
Rooted in Heritage. Crafted for the World.
The Monduras Coffee Co. Story
At Monduras Coffee Co., our story is deeply personal. My wife, my children, and much of our family are Honduran by birth and heritage. Our relatives still live in the mountains of Honduras, where coffee is not just a crop—it’s a way of life. Our Uncle, or ‘Tio’ like so many Hondurans, works hard at many jobs to provide for his family. He first hand inspired us to form Monduras Coffee Co. when we learned of his endeavor, to plant a farmload of coffee trees on his family’s land in the Honduran mountains adding to a long tradition of coffee in Honduras and hitting directly home as a beloved member of our family.
Why Ethical Sourcing Means More
We believe in ethical sourcing, but we need to be honest: fair wages is not the whole story. Yes, minimum wages exist in Honduras, but they are much lower than in the United States. At first glance, this seems unfair. But the reality is: the U.S. dollar stretches much further in Honduras. When we pay farmers, artisans, and workers directly in Honduras, we’re not just paying wages—we’re keeping families together.
The true injustice comes when Central Americans, often out of desperation, travel to the United States to work—sometimes without legal protections. They take jobs like roofing, construction, or farm work at substandard U.S. wages. On paper, it looks like they earn “more” than they would in Honduras. But in truth, they’re being exploited. They’re away from their families. They live without security. And most of their earnings are sent back home, where the dollar’s power is magnified.
A National Challenge
Today, an estimated 24–25% of Honduras’ GDP comes from remittances—money sent back from family members working in the United States and other countries. This staggering figure reveals a heartbreaking truth: there aren’t enough sustainable jobs available in Honduras itself. Families are being pulled apart to survive.
Our Mission: Keep Families Together
At Monduras Coffee Co., we are determined to help change that. Our Honduras Adventure line is more than coffee—it’s a mission. Every bag we sell helps hire more people living and working in Honduras. Your purchase supports Honduran farmers, artisans, and families. It helps create jobs in country, so people don’t have to leave loved ones behind.
We don’t just buy coffee. We source Honduran products directly, on the ground, with our own family connections and first-hand knowledge of where every dollar goes. When you buy Monduras, you’re fighting poverty, empowering communities, and keeping Honduran families together.
